Winamp has announced a strategic partnership with Deezer to power its upcoming premium music subscription service, marking a major step toward the launch of the next generation of the iconic Winamp Player.

Under the agreement, Deezer will provide its white-label streaming technology and global music catalog, allowing Winamp to introduce its own subscription service fully integrated into the redesigned player. Beyond streaming, the platform will combine local music libraries, internet radio, podcasts, personal cloud collections, and other audio sources within a customizable interface.

The new Winamp Player aims to rethink the listening experience by bringing together multiple ways of discovering and organizing music in a single application. Following its launch, Winamp’s desktop player, which the company says is still used by more than 40 million people worldwide, will also integrate the new premium subscription service.

The next-generation Winamp Player is expected to arrive during the first half of 2027, with additional announcements planned in the coming months.
